2025 Juried Youth Art Festival

The Fourth Annual Juried Youth Art Festival is scheduled for April 8th - April 10th at St. Boniface Parish Hall in Sioux City. Please read the following for more information.


SIOUXLAND CATHOLIC RADIO’S JURIED YOUTH ART FESTIVAL GUIDELINES AND SPECIFICATIONS


ELIGIBILITY

·       Catholic School Art teachers, Religious Education/Faith Formation, and teachers/parents of homeschoolers may submit for the jurying process.

·       Only one submission per student.

·       International students enrolled in a Catholic school during the 2024-2025 school year can participate. 

 

CRITERIA

·       Artwork must be started after the beginning of the current school year and completed before the March 13th 12pm deadline.

·       Originality, creativity, theme, and an expressive response to the media.

·       Workmanship should be of a very high quality.

·       2-D work does not need to be matted for the jurying process.  Siouxland Catholic Radio will not provide matting and framing.

·       3 –D work should be display-ready for the jurying process.

·       Charcoal and pastels work must be FIXED with a spray fixative before the jurying process.  

·       Please do not submit entries on “lined” paper.   

·       Art pieces must have been created solely by the student.

·       Photography entries and entries created on “lined” paper will not be accepted.

·       Artwork will be displayed on tables by Siouxland Catholic Radio.

·       Both parents’ names must be included on the consent form due to past experiences.  Exceptions? Please contact Tony Michaels at tonymichaels@fhcradio.com.

 

 

SPECIFICATIONS

  • The size restrictions for 2-D work is 11” x 14” as the largest measurement and no size limitation for the smallest dimension. No restriction for 3-D work.

  • Each work must be properly identified with a title.

  • All artwork must have the label provided (or photocopy of such, see following pages) affixed to the back of the artwork.  

  • A completed inventory form must be submitted by each teacher, faith formation director, or home schoolteacher/parent.

  • A consent to release information signed by the parent/guardian.
